I'm sure it gets said every time, but another bonus to having the Wrangler sin Calgary. I imagine it's easier to get a player to agree to these AHL stints if they don't have to go stay in a hotel somewhere and get to stay home. Wranglers don't have an away game until next Friday.

The player also has to agree to the conditioning stint, correct?
As for signing Barrie, I thought he may have been done already, but it still wasn't a bad call by Conroy. One of the big things he brings to the team is his leadership and personality in the room. Flames lost some big voices in the last couple of years, and needed a guy like him.

Which is a miracle considering what a peice of work his dad is. I use to play hockey with him back in the day in Victoria with him during the whole Bear Mountian/ overpass controversy. He destroyed alot of indigenous sites and his views on their perspective was not great.

Yikes I hadn’t heard about that.
I also see that Barrie Sr. began his junior career with the AJHL’s Calgary Spurs (the ‘ol skate boot) and the WHL edition of… the Calgary Wranglers. Full circle.
Guessing if Bahl is out for any period of time that he’ll be back up. Or at least oncall if someone else goes down. They do have a bunch of home games coming up
No reason why he should pout, since he had to agree to the conditioning assignment in the first place. He's an old pro, he knows what he needs to do to get back in the lineup.
