The ads are brutal. Is there a way we can just pay for access to CP without the ads?

TBH for the average person, it's just easier and faster to just hop into the app store and download a new browser than figure out where to go to check out the settings. Not to mention for Opera for instance, it has ChatGPT built in (Aria) and then I can use it within the app without having to install a separate app just for ChatGPT.
Safari has Adblock extensions you can download. They block ads, social media links, etc.

The owner has stated he is so tired of the whining about ads and he is frustrated that everyone isn't pleased with him. If I had a website, and many of my members were annoyed and disgruntled with how it operated, I'd be inclined to change the way it operated, since they are my audience, instead of telling them to stop whining. However, I do not have a website, so it's not a problem for me.

The ads on my phone are awful on this site. They are now about 3/4 of the screen. It's to the point where I don't read CP as much and maybe that is the intent.

Yeah. The ads aren’t necessarily a deal breaker because of my extreme addiction but hot damn my visiting here is way down. Worst this site’s ever been and it’s because of the ads. So brutal.

For people like us, sure. But my assumption is if you're smart enough to download an extension to deal with ads, you're not complaining about ads.

For people like my parents, they're more likely aware of how to install an app over fiddling with settings or learning which extension to install (I don't they understand what an extension is).

Ah, I see. I wasn't thinking about extensions. I rarely use safari and I just looked up the settings about pop up blocking.

I understand that things change, but can it not be incredibly worse each time?

This is infuriating. They jump a bit too, so you end up clicking the ad. The close arrow tends to be off screen to the left so you have to scroll over first.

These are the worst ads this site has ever had and I'm coming here way less because of it.

Not just IOS. It's mobile browser.
I prefer to shows ads on CP, but it's basically not functional with these new ads, so I switched to Arc Browser for Android. Zero ads, zero issues but also unfortunately zero revenue for CP

Damn, I must have done something right, because I haven't had an ad show up on CP in awhile now.

The arrows go away so it’s not that simple. You type a post and they pop up and you cant get rid of em.

I brought it up and Bingo snapped on me. Wasn’t complaining about ads. Just they are intrusive.

He mentioned he doesn’t read other parts of the forum so not much we can do.

OK but I’m saying it’s literally the same functionality as downloading an app. You just type in “safari extension” instead of “browser” in the app store.

If they can figure out what different browser to download they can surely figure out what ad blocker to download.

Anyway the ads are trash and that’s the important thing.

I just threw pi-hole on a Raspberry Pi4 and don't have ad issues anymore. No more Telus ads on Flames videos when I just want to watch a 30 second highlight.

Probably should add "Bingo please read" in the thread title or something...

I want to support CP by allowing these ads but it's too annoying to leave them as they are right now.

I dunno, maybe we don't want him to see this side of the forum if he doesn't know what goes on here... it's kind of a #### show. Our #### show, but still...

It’s like inviting a coworker to a sex party. I mean maybe they fit the vibe and it’s all good but hooo boy if they don’t then you’re not putting the toothpaste back in that tube.

You guys could totally get rid of this if you solve these quests, find the key and solve these riddles. Or the site could not be a k word.

I’d support the site directly if I could.

In the meantime use Brave.
