I'd be surprised if they play tonight. The fires are devastating.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Pardon my ignorance, how far away are the fires from the arena?
Seems obvious to just postpone but I also recall football games being played in California (49ers) with red skies.
Also, I see how my avatar could look fairly insensitive.

It's not close to the arena per se, but this is not a wildfire. It's chewing through some pretty urbanized areas of LA. It is an epic disaster.

Welp. At least I won't have to stay up too late.
Hope the people and animals in that area get out alright.

The right decision and hopefully people evacuate and can get out of the impacted areas and their homes safely.

You of course realize that’s why they will win.
Or not. Just read it’s postponed.

do you mind saying where they live? I think our friends are still likely pretty safe but I don't want to keep pestering them for updates

Theres a 'Flames in LA' joke to be made, but I'm going to let it go. Just this once.

Metro area aflame on three sides- Santa Monica, San Fernando, Pasadena. This is very bad.
The LA portion of this fire map is really something to behold. I hope they can get it under control. Thoughts and prayers to everyone down there.

I was at the LA and ANA games, the last time the fires were really bad (forget what year that was). At the ANA game, we were sitting on a patio by the arena, grabbing a bite before the game, and we could see fires - they were only a few miles into the hills from the arena. The air was brown. It was pretty crazy that millions of people were just carrying on, with the fires literally right there.

I feel for the Flames fans that traveled to California for the games and the people that are evacuating their homes
