Went as a family the last one, and my youngest boy fell in love with the Flames. He asked for flames merch for Christmas and of course we obliged. Its tough for Flames fans living outside of Alberta, one game in Penticton made my boy a fan for life. We will be trying to get out to see them this Spring just to get a nice dome experience for him before the next building opens.
I hope its just a hiatus and not a permanent thing, because the exposure to NHL hockey (Even the rookies) makes no difference to kids.

Just make it a Flames thing this year. Do up a big Fan Fest/skills competition and bring in the fans, especially families. Explain the game to newcomers with interpreters in the community.

Call the Kings and join their tournament, as there is now a vacant place from the Kraken.
(Kings, Sharks, Ducks, Knights, Utah, & Avalanche).
Otherwise there is the tournament in St. Louis that only has 3 teams (Wild, Hawks, Blues). Although I suspect the Jets are already on it.
That, or just create a three team tournament for the Jets, Oilers and us.

They should just have an 'Old Stars' Tournament.
Oh! You dont want a 'Young Stars' Tournament! Fine then! We can just poach every old bastard in the BC interior and slap skates on 'em and sell tickets to that! Bitch!

They simply could have invited Seattle to join the existing tournament. There are enough hockey fans in the Okanagan, plus the odd traveling fan from Calgary, Edm, Vanc etc.

Sioux Falls has a nice arena and is very pretty in the summer. I’m sure there must be somewhere in Idaho and Saskatchewan that they can rotate through.
