Once he proved he could do it, they couldn’t afford him.
He’s probably not a .931 goalie, but on the Avs, it’s worth a gamble that he’s a consistent .905-15 guy.
Dude has seen a lot of rubber on a lot of bad teams - it’s probably a nice change of pace for him playing on an elite team with multiple Hall of Famers.
Not as many unpredictably awful plays to account for, and far more run support.
