Looks like the Blues have the new coach bump. Have to applaud them for being aggressive.

Feels like what hawks did with Savard and coach Q. Although this roster doesn’t have the Hawks talent.

Great test for the Flames. St. Louis certainly feels like one of those teams in the bottom half of the standings that will work their way up at some point. Call it a new-coach bump, or just a good coach taking over, but they should be difficult to play tonight. Flames have been great at home - lets see if that continues.

Pelletier stapled to the 4th line. That being said if he wants to move up than do something about it, show them you deserve it.

Rooney and Lomberg are not exactly going to help a young guy score some goals.

Coleman - Zary - Duehr/Kuzmenko/Pelletier looks like it could work.

Kuzmenko scratched, which is expected after a solid game the last one. I think he'll come back very motivated and this will work to get him going whenever he finds his way back in. Let's see.

He’s the one guy I can’t figure out. I would bet has the most skill of all of the Flames forwards. But literally generates zero offense. Looks like he puts effort in and cares. If he could take off it would make a huge difference.

I'd cut him more slack with the injury and coming back into the lineup.

He's ranked 1st (or last depending on how you look at it) amongst Flames forwards for getting little for what's created when he's on the ice.

GF/60 of 1.15
xGF/60 of 2.35
Or 1.20 under

He's ranked 6th on the team in xGF60.

Given how streaky he is ... I'm guessing he still gets to 25 goals.

They are talking about Sharangovich, I think.

Duehr looked solid last game, curious to see if he can keep that motor going.

He looked good to me. Was good on the forecheck, showed good speed, and made a couple of nice passes that turned into nothing because they were to Rooney or Lomberg.

Pelletier has shown himself to be a pretty good playmaker at the AHL level and they are playing him with guys who just aren't going to finish.

It's so obvious that it should be:

Pelletier - Zary - Coleman
Lomberg - Rooney - Duehr

Duehr looked like a good energy 4th liner last game IMO, but don't think he's a guy that is going to drive much offense. Actually would be better since Coleman is comfortable playing RH, and it's Duehr's natural position.

IIRC he got scratched last season and came back very well.

He was bugging me with his little stickhandling plays out near the blue line leading to nothing. He's a guy that needs to see things from the press box sometimes.

I think that Pelts is on the fourth line because that's the actual spot being auditioned for. Duehr is in the top nine placeholder spot until Kuzmenko gets out of the doghouse. In the meantime they want to see how well Pelts fits in Kirkland's old spot. Just my guess on those lines.

Zary's been at centre for about 3-4 weeks now I think. He's looked OK. I thought last game was one of his weaker at C (new linemates).
