Free asset. Pending UFA. We have plenty cap space. Could send Hanley down I'm sure. Another deadline trade chip. Why not?

This generations Chris Butler, I would pass on taking a flyer on him. No offence, no defence, just sorta meh.

I'd claim him and put Hanley on waivers.

According to the media to the north, he would solve their defensive problems. Ha. Ha. Ha.

It's a "insta-pick" and they would just put Kane on LTIR to make it work according to their fans.

Not even Dante Fabbro could save the Oilers.
No one can save the Oilers.
No one.

As far as I can tell, Fabbro has no checkered past, no assault allegations, no criminal history.
He's not a Bowman/Oilers type player.

They took him off LTIR to accrue cap space. He is still on regular IR though, but could be back in early 2025.

Friedman on HNIC says that many people told him that they don't expect Fabbro to be claimed because of the $2.5 million cap hit.

True, that's a deterrent.
Maybe if he clears, he could be moved in a cap dump/trade with an additional asset thrown in?

The Flames should tell Nashville to ring them if they need a 3rd party to retain cap in a trade.

When was this? Both puckpedia and capwages show him on LTIR.

It came up in a a story from Tuesday on my MSN feed. Maybe the writer had their information wrong, or the Oilers put him back on LTIR?

On Tuesday, the Edmonton Oilers sent winger Drake Caggiula down to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors, allowing the team to place Evander Kane back on the active roster to accrue cap space. As team insider Daniel Nugent-Bowman reports:
