I think it was Scorp who said in that video segment last night that shots (shot attempts?) with Kirkland on ice last night were 23-3. Obviously some of that when playing 3rd line.
So do you take him out of the lineup at this point? Absolutely not
Do you soon? Probably. You lose you switch it up

He was out there against Crosby a lot.

I am very leery of reading too much into single-game metrics. I am also leery of applying it to individuals, as it is usually about a) matchups and b) mostly noise.

I love Klapka, and I feel with how his game has grown since the Flames first signed him and brought him over that he will end up becoming a pretty good bottom 6 player. His offence in the AHL last year was a bit eyebrow raising for me, which goes to show you how nicely he is progressing.

With that said, I think Klapka has started looking worse. Not sure if it is a confidence thing, but i can see Rooney coming in at the expense of Klapka if he doesn't start improving a bit. I really love the size and physicality that he can bring, however. Thought the refs were going to make a call against him when he made that strong play against Crosby. He seems like he is almost at that NHL regular/Tweener line right now in my eyes (and again, that's impressive judging by where he was 2 seasons ago).

I thought the Flames were out-played, but I also felt that Wolf didn't have to make much in the way of miracle saves. Wolf was definitely good and I am not downplaying his performance, but I felt that the Pens didn't do enough to win the game, even if they controlled it. Really takes me back to the 2015 season right now. This team is returning to the 'find a way' team again, which is exciting. Hopefully they just get a bit more consistent 5 on 5.

Flames are better than the Kings though

I’ve never hated Andersson, but I did question in the season opener GT his ability to get back into his form pre car crash last year. Ya, he’s proven so far he’s at the best we’ve ever seen him in his career so I admit I had a terrible take.

IIRC one of the insiders on CP said a scout contact they had was pissed we got Bahl, most teams didn’t know he was even on the market and said something along the lines of “think Robyn Regehr”.

I'm pretty sure that's where I got that take. Thanks!
