Flames have some early mojo and the Oilers are sleepwalking. They might get up for the flames but it would t shock me to see them continue to take teams lightly early and I suspect the Flames have an extra chip on their shoulder.

Feels like a winnable game for Calgary.

Debbie Downer here. All it takes for an Oiler revival is a game against the Flames and a blowout. Hoping for the blowout by the Flames, but I fear the worst.

All the pressure is on the Oilers. We are suppose to suck but start 2-0, & our most maligned player has 3G 2A in 2 games. We’re playing with house money and it’s fun. The Oilers are already in panic mode, can’t start the season 0-3 with a loss against your most bitter rival who’s supposed to be a bottom feeder. The wonder twins have a combined 1G, 1A & -6. When a 39 year old plug is tied for your team lead in points, you’re in some trouble. I have a feeling they’ll be gripping the sticks tight tonight.

I think the Flames will have to weather a storm early probably. The cavemen will be bloodthirsty. But if they do and Vladar holds the fort well enough they should be able to outlast those numpties just like against Vancouver.

Let the oilers tire themselves out early and bend but don't break. Then counter and profit when the no goods make their inevitable gaffes

This is really going to be an uphill battle to win this tonight. I guarantee the calls are going to be severely slanted in favour of the Oilers tonight. The league can't have one of their biggest draws having another really poor start if they can help it. The Flames can win this game but they are going to have to keep their energy as high as it has been and get excellent PK when the officials try to manage the game for Edmonton. GFG.

The Huberdeau vs Perry top point getters comparison on the OP is hilarious.

I know this team is supposed to be bottom 3 blablabla, but my thanksgiving weekend will be complete if they can win this over the 0ilers.

Oilers always come ready for the Flames so we need to show up.

Oh yeah nothing quite like playing the flames to get the oilers season on track. I’m expecting a 5 point night from mcdavid, Bouchard and Drai each with hat tricks and skinner with a shutout.

Not sure what else to expect today but I think 6
PPs to 2 in their favor with at least one extended 5 on 3
Feels right

First must win game of the season. It’s never okay to lose to the Oilers.

With the way these two teams are playing, this seems like a winnable game for Calgary. But we all know that games against the Flames are the Oilers' Stanley Cup, so they'll definitely come out flying at puck drop. They're also desperate for a win. Hopefully the Flames can weather the storm early and take advantage of the Oilers' terrible D and goaltending.

The game will come down to one thing. Powerplays.

Stay out of the box and the Flames win.

Can't happen. It's the Oilers at home off to an 0-2 start against a team that has no league stars on it. There are going to be some serious soft calls against us tonight.

Perfect storm for the Oilers to have a big game and Flames to fall to their projected capability.

That said, I thought we'd be 0-2 and commending the occasional good play by someone, searching for the positives.

Thanksgiving Dinner with the Oiler fan in-laws tonight... I'm fearing the worst but man it could be great, lol.

Oilers will be feeling the tryptophan-induced comas that come from home cooking.

Don't you mean salmonella? It is Edmonton after all.

Honzek looked really good last night so I don’t think Coronato would take his place at this point. While the flames have had some struggles on the defensive side, all their defensemen have, for the most part, looked solid and have had a positive impact on the game.
Lineup at warm-up, no morning skate today.
Assume Vladar in net.
