I'll be going PHEV for next vehicle until batteries improve in cold weather before I get any full EV. I had to rent a car due to some work on my truck this January and thought it would be fun to rent a Tesla. Then the cold snap hit and I had to drive my daughter from downtown Calgary to Carstairs and back. I left with a 100% charge and had to stop both ways at Crossiron to charge the car... Awful in our cold snaps.

Please, I've ridden in a few Teslas and they are nothing special. Barebones cheap interior, loud road noise and rattles, and embarrassing panel gaps. And this was in a Model X, their $120,000 "luxury" model. Save your money and buy from a company who's CEO isn't a Trump sycophant

The Model Y was the best selling car last year out of all cars, gas and electric. It's also received the highest safety rating of any car. But hey, I guess you and your panel gaps know better

My Parents had a Model X. it was cool enough, but down to brass tacks, the quality/price ratio was laughable.
Her Volvo X90 had way better quality materials with the same everyday useful items without the fart speakers. Still the best vehicle my parents have had outside of their 2004 AMG ML 350 which was still quality after 15 years (although cost prohibitive outside of warranty.
My next vehicle is an electric. If i can wait that long, its the Rivian R3X. If not, probably a prius

I don't see anyone posting about great rates when Ford offers them, or putting out a referral code for it.

Well why don't we rectify that? F-150 financing for 1.99%!

Part of that is just the limited number models Tesla produces. It is almost a sign of the rigidity of the Tesla sales model than that Tesla makes good cars. Also the better electric options are much more supply limited.
The financing deal above also suggests a softening of demand leading to subsidies.

How does the amount of models Tesla creates have any correlation to it being the best selling car in the world? The Model Y outsold any car created by Honda, Toyota and Ford last year or any automaker

How does it being the best selling car in the world correlate to it being a quality product? A lot of best selling or most successful things in an industry (i.e. movies, TV shows, snacks etc...) are of middling or worse quality.

If it was a ####ty car with poor build quality I doubt it would be the best selling car in the world. If you make a ####ty product it's not going to sell at least not at the volumes and purchase price of a Tesla given all the competition

Teslas are garbage and the Model Y is the bottom of the garbage heap. They're the new Prius, but worse. Buy an Ioniq or something.
Also yes this thread should probably be deleted or at most merged with the general automotive thread... can't recall someone trying so shamelessly to make a buck on here without paying for advertising privileges. Well, okay, there was that one time.

Best selling car in the world, so it must be garbage. Also, I removed my referral link, as I stated earlier. Happy to debate you about Tesla's being garbage

There's literally a dedicated Tesla thread. Obviously should have gone in there from the start.

Are Tesla's not one of the least reliable cars out there if not rated the least reliable? I think the high sales has more to do with limited EV options over the past couple of years vs Tesla's actually being good cars. I can appreciate the technology that is in the drive train but to actually think Tesla's are quality cars is a stupid as thinking Elon bought Twitter to save free speech.
And nobody really buys cars any more anyways. Best selling car but far from the best selling vehicle.

If Musk dies, I'll totally be interested in one.
Just like how I'm now open to a vintage VW Bug.

Yeah. They suck. Complete junk. They've sold something like 2 million of them... the Lada sold 20 million units; does that make it a good car? Really stupid argument.
At least the Prius had decent QC.
