If you’re camping at Round Lake try not to set the forest ablaze.

Ya that's probably the one you saw. Google's routes you around it, but someone recommended me to take the sun road and it adds an hour or 2, but well worth it. Check out some of the youtube videos. Honestly looks like one of the most beautiful drives possible. I'd say don't miss it and it's probably the part of the trip I'm looking forward to the most.

I did that back in July. It is pretty cool but will cost you $35 to enter the National Park. If you go in at St.Mary's entrance which is the one 60km South of Cardston you don't need the vehicle pass to enter.

The US hiway 2 is actually an interesting route on its own has some interesting things if you like old rail bridges and things like that.

OK good to know, I forgot about that. Looks like the route I selected uses the St. Mary's entrance anyways, so hopefully I'll miss out on paying for the vehicle pass.

I don't know if there is a fee for the vehicle pass or not. The intent is to limit the amount of traffic on the road during the peak hours. I think its only during peak months too.
Depending on when you go, try to get in earlier so you can stop at the Logan Pass visitor center. We went into the park around 9 and 35 minutes later the parking lot was already filling up.

We did this the last time we were in the area, and it was awesome.

They might have rentals? You'd have to check.

This is such a fantastic easy day trip. Coast all the way down bus back to your car.

Both Montana's and The Keg are better than Texas Roadhouse in my opinion. Not cheaper, but better.

If you're a cyclist at all, the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes is an easy (and long) ride that starts in Plummer and goes to Wallace. You could park and ride a part of it only if you wanted.

There is also the Hiawatha trail and think you can rent eBikes to do it if you don't ride at all.

+1 for going to the sun road. One of the best drives I've ever done. Plan to take your time. Stop at the St. Mary Visitor Centre at the entrance for a break and to get a sense of your drive. Fun if you have young kids too.

Stop at every lookout you have time for, they are all incredible. Logan pass is a great place to stop for a break, and if you have time do the fairly short and easy hike (pretty much all boardwalk) to the Hidden Lake/Bear Hat Mountain overlook. Lots of wildlife and incredible views on the hike. You can get crazy and do other hikes along the cliff face too, you'll see that through Logan's pass.

Lake McDonald is also another beautiful place to just chill in the water, unbelievably clear water. So many cool streams and waterfalls along the way you'll see too.

Hairpins, hill climbs, and narrow roads make even just driving super fun along the way. Stop for ice cream in West Galcier as a treat for making it through!

Honestly you'll enjoy it no matter what you do and I'm just gushing because I'm happy someone is experiencing it for the first time. I'm super jealous!

Love this town. People are so friendly holding doors. Feels like I'm still in Canada.

We spent lots of time yesterday on lake coeur d'alene and it's just so beautiful. Nicer than Kelowna and closer too. Will be coming here more often.
