Murphy beds aren't cheap. I remember looking into them and surprised they were like $1500 ish entry level. Plus the mattresses in them are typically kinda thin to be space effective for their deployment.
For the price of a Murphy bed, I'd look into other options. ie: do an air bed and pocket the change, a nice sofa with pull out bed, maybe if I had to do fancy, I'd rather do a Japanese shikibuton + tatami mats to store it in a closet. I think it'd be about the same level of comfort/space usage to a Murphy bed.
