Last summer I think that list would have been closer to 13

Yeah, my personal list of interest goes to 29 this year, it was 14 or 15 last year.

Yup. Going back to that 2015 list, Andrew Mangiapane was at 21. There's a very strong likelihood that Calgary has a couple future decent NHLers who will fall outside of the top 20 here.

First vote where I'm undecided. Too many good options.

Went with Mews. Thought about Stromgren and Misa. I want to beleive in Grushnikov, I just don't see anything more the a #6/7 dman with those offensive numbers. I might be sleeping on Poirier too, just not sure hes good enough offensively to make up for other shortcomings to be a top 4 Dman. well see.

Wasn't Grushnikov the player that one of the insiders here said that a pro scout had told them he could wind up being similar to Regehr?

I went with Mews mainly because I saw him consistently ranked as a 1st rounder.
But now I realize that I am a hypocrite for choosing Gridin over Basha defaulting to the order that the Flames selected them. If I was being consistent, I should have picked Battaglia over Mews.

Gotta be Poirier. If he looks like he did at the start of last year he's making the team.

His 1st season in North America, he put up 13G 12A 25PTS in 60GP.
His 2nd season in North America, he put up 21G 25A 46PTS in 65GP (lead the team), and followed that up with 2G 5A 7PTS in 6 playoff games (lead the team in points, PIMs, and +/-).
Now consider he's 6'8", skates well, and is taking boxing lessons, and you start to see a pretty high likelihood of an NHL player here. I believe Klapka could be something along the lines of our own Matt Rempe, but with better offensive instincts.

No thanks. Not a fan of his game at all. It's good to be strong but playing the game to only look for fights seems strange with all these former players passing away at an early age.

Blue Chip (No doubt NHLer with high likelihood of being a star player)
Parekh
A level (High likelihood of NHL career, possibility of being a star player)
Wolf
Coronato
Brzustewicz
Morin
A- Level (possibility of NHL career and possibility of being a star player)
Poirier
Honzek
Basha
Gridin
Suniev
Stromgren
Mews
Misa
Sergeev
B+ level (high likelihood of NHL career but low possibility of being a star player)
Pelletier
Grushnikov
Kuznetsov
Solovyov
Lipinski
Yegorov
Current pick in bold.
Poirier had a very good first year in the minors, followed by a very unfortunate injury that derailed last year. He's still a very talented player who has improved steadily over time. I really think he has a shot at the NHL, and maybe a role as a bottom pairing power play specialist.

Close, that was actually Bahl. Sec originally posted it in the Markstrom trade thread.

Le sigh! Going with Stromgren again, just like the last round...
