Yeah it's nice to go out there for a day but the water is always so cold even in the middle of summer.

I hope you like the wind.
Beautiful area but that wind would get to me.

That's the reality of living in Southern Alberta whether it be CNP, Pincher Creek, Lethbridge, etc. If you don't like wind, it's not the place for you.

Yeah it’s rough around the edges with the miners (same as Fernie) but money is coming in and it’s going to be similar to Canmore. Except it’s really windy.
I wouldn’t think twice.

Re: the bolded, my parent bought a place there 30 years ago on that basis so we spent a lot of time down there growing up... I was just back last week for the first time in probably 20 years and it was... remarkably similar. A few new condos at the east end of Coleman, but that's about it. Even the IGA smelled the same haha (and I found the prices to be reasonable).
None of that's really a problem, necessarily, but I don't think I'd base a lot of my decision making on it becoming "Canmore v2.0".

It’s too far from a major city to become Canmore 2.0. It’s an ok area but I’d rather spend time in fernie if I had to.
The golf course is over rated in my opinion now too. It’s good but it isn’t better than Kananskis/Stewart creek/silvertip that are all 1.25 hours closer.

In my excitement of typing I should probably clarify that I don't think it's going to be similar in the sense that it's going to be filled with ultra rich Europeans and million dollar condos. Moreso that it will (and does) resemble Canmore in landscape but at a cheaper price. Somewhat of a hidden gem IMO. I really, really like it there.
Another added bonus; you can also spend your days searching for the lost lemon mine.

If I were a realtor down there I'd be spreading word that climate change is going to drastically cut the wind levels, and you should get in now.

Pincher Creek definitely would have more people per capita that qualify as hillbillies. Maybe inbreeding or something in the water but some weird folks in that town. I'll leave it to troutman to come to his own conclusions on the local people after he's spent enough time there but I imagine he will agree with me.

I expect them not to drool when they speak

I don't see any ultra-rich Europeans in Canmore tbh. Maybe they just don't interact with me? The quite-rich people I know there are O&G execs, and retired execs.
There is Cairns Landing or whatever that place is called with some mega homes and there are probably other mansions around. I guess I don't know who owns those. Maybe it is rich Europeans. Just weird that I've never encountered them. You'd think they'd be all over hanging with a schlub in a random condo.

Probably because they're all outside heli-hiking and you're afraid of bears!
Wasn't Canmore getting infiltrated by Germans at one point? I haven't been there in a while so probably take my comments with a grain of sarcasm.

Seems to be a small arts community there, and lots of events in the summer.

Our annual Huckleberry Festival is our biggest summer event and our team looks forward to welcoming guests from near and far for this special weekend. It brings our community, locals, families, and friends together for a celebration of all things summer.
Enjoy tons of FREE live music, our bbq / beer garden, scenic chairlift rides, berry picking, a mountain (vendor) market, and a chicken & rib dinner to cap it all off. Huckleberry Festival is held the 4th week in August annually.
