Buffalo should have been able to get McLeod for a 3rd. I thought Oilers might trade him with all the signings. They didn't need him and needed his cap hit gone.
This is just a bad trade. Why couldn't we get this not the Oilers.

Reading the Sabres board, some of them hate it, some of them love it knowing that Savoie had no future in the organization.
Still feels like they should have gotten a lot more in return.

I believe in the Jays.

This trade makes no sense.

Why do they say he had no future?

Any indication as to why? Even if there was a logjam in a specific position or something I had assumed he was one of, if not the top prospect in their system.

I guess they just don't expect him to take a top 6 spot any time soon and that the Sabres need help now? Not a lot of detail behind those posts.

Ok, fair enough. Even if he is their 3rd or 4th ranked prospect it still makes no sense that they would trade that for McLeod.
I'm just upset someone is helping the Oilers.

Byram, Dahlin, Power and Samuelsson are all left shots. Maybe they still need Andersson....

Over 2 points per game is excellent for a D+1, unfortunately
However, this past season was actually his D+2 year.
