The Flames need to hire a Russian goalie coach.

Steinberg says many in the goalie community have texted him to tell him that they are very excited about this pick.

Sounds like a fantastic pick. I thought they were picking a Russian goalie - seem to have a bit of a preference here, and with looking at how Russia is the new Finland in terms of being a goalie factory, it is hard to disagree with this pick.

Would have gone with Luke Misa here myself but if they wanted a goalie this is a good pick

His prospect video on YouTube is interesting. He's quick. He super mobile in the butterfly.
Looks like he needs refinement in his movement because in the 4 minutes I watched him he's the busiest busy body.
He doesn't lose his net like Reto Berra but he slides all over in the butterfly like Berra did.
For a guy his size he's like an energizer Bunny.

He could be the next Hasek or the next Jon Gillies, who knows with goalie
But it’s obvious the Flames are impressed enough to spend a relative high pick for him
