Interesting tidbit on 32 thoughts this morning:

Golden Knights GM Kelly McCrimmon said post-draft that Logan Thompson asked for a trade (more opportunity) and Akira Schmid will start as their No. 3 goalie, getting time at AHL Henderson. So they are looking for an NHL backup to Adin Hill.

So much for Vegas treating Thompson badly. It’s a smart move by Thompson. He’s got game and needs to show it prior to his next contract.

I wonder how much is true, though. Thompson played more games than Hill this season and their stats were about equal. Seems to me he would have gotten the chance to start more games next season too, if he played well enough.

Nope. Vegas has declared Hill to be their guy. Thompson only started as many as he did because of injury. He wants a 1G spot and fair enough.
