Man, sad to see Mangiapane traded. Loved this kid’s game from the moment I watched him in the 2015 Penticton tournament. Was more impressed with him than Sam Bennett in that tourny, so always knew he’d be an impact player one day. Bread’s work ethic was second to none, he didn’t cheat the game and he always played the game the right way.
Too bad Flames’ management didn’t sign him to a cheaper long term deal earlier on because ever since that 35 goal season that necessitated that big number, he just hasn’t been able to live up to that cap hit. The pressure and expectations that came with it were ultimately just a burden in the end.
Hope he finds success with his future teams. In the right situation, I could see his story unfolding like Zach Hyman’s as their styles of play are very comparable.
