Looks like the Flames should have their shot at getting a top end Center next June. Too bad this isn't a year where there's a can't miss franchise changing stud waiting in the wings like Bedard or Mckenna.

They will be just as bad in 2026 unless some prospects really surprise.

It’s super early of course, but is there a sense of how good the top 10 of the 2025 draft compares to the top 10 of the 2024 draft? I see quite a few centres in the 2025 draft which is good. Can anyone speak to how those centres project compared to Cellebrini or Lindstrom? Higher/lower potential upside relative to each player.

On paper, Hagens is a step up on this year's draft class. Or I've been led to believe. Don't know enough about Rondel yet. Ryabkin has been a name for a year or so.

I'm gonna try and track this draft class a little closer this year.

I'm convinced the Flames aren't going to be as bad as ppl are putting out there. We will see.

My guess. We end up with little big bro Michael Misa. He's been projecting strongly as well.

My guess we finish 26-28th. Puts us decent odds at the lottery.

Gotta think teams like Seattle, Utah, Ottawa take a step. The others I'm not so sure about.

Most of the bottom teams figure to get better, but that doesn't mean much in relative terms.

It isn't often, especially in the cap era, that a team finishes the season with 47 points. Typically, last place is somewhere around 60.

I see us above San Jose and competing with Montreal/Anahiem depending all on how well their kids do.

I think Columbus and Chicago pass us in points this year. Unless one of Vladar/Wolf have a coming out party and become a top 8 goalie.

It’s going to be a fun season to watch, no stress as long as Florida doesn’t fall off a cliff.

Keep an eye on Jake O’Brien from Brantford, very slick C with incredible vision and IQ, he just turned 17 and he should fill out his already 6'1 frame. probably already ranked a 1st rounder but he could rise into the top 10

I really want McQueen but Misa would also be an interesting pick. We have his brother and plays with Parekh.

What is the word.

Is this meant to be a strong draft class?

If we win the lottery, we can't win the next season?

I believe teams are not allowed to advance via the draft lottery any more than twice within a 5 year period.

So, given we have never advanced via the lottery, technically we could do it the next two years.

I think

Are any teams currently disqualified due to this restriction?
