Pretty happy. Had 3 of my 3rd rounders turn into 2nds.

Yakemchuk was a surprise going 7 instead of 14 (-7). I would not have drafted him 7, let alone as the 2nd D in the draft. Ottawa is dumb.

Solberg dropped slightly. I picked him 21, but he went 23 to Anaheim (+2). Great spot as Anaheim is a D developing Machine.

Jiricek rose, as I drafted him 23 and he went 16 (-7).

Brunicke, I took 63, went 44 (-19)
Traff I took 74, went 91 but held in the 3rd (+17)
Fernstrom I took 77, wen 94 (+17 also, weird0)

Geroge I took 80, he went 57 (-23)
Vinni I took 84, he went 64 (-20) but now has that Oiler stank.

Overall though pretty happy as i didn't feel nearly as prepped up as I usually am.

Hutson went 43, and I took him 28C.

Took Saarinen at 56C and he fell to 88.

Adam Kleber went at 72 to me, and was selected at 42.

I drafted Lukas Fischer at 81, and he ended up going 56.

I took Sebastien Soini at 84C, and he went at 140.

I grabbed Kasper Pikkarainen at 88 and he wound up at 85.

I selected AJ Spellacy at 112C and he ended up going 72.

So I dropped on Hutson, Saarinen, and Soini (big), but gained on Kleber, Fisher, and Spellacy which probably evens things out. Also signed overager Erik Pahlsson who went in the 7th.

In the end:

EJ Emery: 30 to NYR, 37 to CPHL NYI. +7
Ben Danford: 31 to TOR, 71 to CPHL NYI. +40
Ilya Nabokov: 38 to COL, free to CPHL NYI. +78
Leon Muggli: 52 to WSH, 70 to CPHL NYI. +18
Teddy Stiga: 55 to NSH, 45 to CPHL NYI. -10
Jacob Battaglia: 62 to CGY, 78 to CPHL NYI. +16
Brodie Ziemer: 71 to BUF, 68 to CPHL NYI. -3
Luca Marrelli: 86 to CBJ, 69 to CPHL NYI. -17
Miguel Marques: 87 to NSH, 60 to CPHL NYI. -27
Jack Pridham: 92 to CHI, 104 to CPHL NYI. +12
Heikki Ruohonen: 107 to PHI, 103 to CPHL NYI. -4
Timur Kol: 168 to CAR, 106 to CPHL NYI. -62
Mac Swanson: 207 to PIT, 79 to CPHL NYI. -128

Swanson my only really big faller. Every single one of my guys was drafted (that's a first) and two of them ended up going in the first round. This is as good a draft day as I've ever had.

  • Beckett Sennecke: 1st Round, 3rd Overall to ANA, 11 in the CPHL. +8.
  • Cole Beaudoin: 1st Round, 24th Overall to UTAH, 30 in the CPHL. +6
  • Julius Miettenen: 2nd Round, 40th Overall to SEA, 32 in the CPHL. -8
  • Alfons Freij: 2nd Round, 37th Overall to JETS, 42 in the CPHL. +5
  • Dominik Badinka: 2nd Round, 34th Overall to CANES, 48 in the CPHL.+14
  • Pavel Moysevich: 3rd Round, 83rd Overall to VEGAS, UFA in the CPHL. Infinite

Sennecke was a big surprise riser. I figured 6 or 7, not 3. It works out great though, fun to have two top Ducks on our team.

Beaudoin went where we thought he would go, good value for us. Utah traded Geekie, so there is room on their squad for him.

Miettenen went about where we figured, thought it was a slight reach for us, but we like him. Two years in a row we get a Kraken 2nd rounder, last year was Carson Rehkopf who looks great.

Freij went about where we figured, we like him to the Jets.

Badinka was a good riser for us.

Moysevich was selected 3rd round in the draft by Vegas which is good value for a free agent.

Overall, solid draft. Mostly risers, 1 slight faller. And no Oilers!!!
