I think it's a little expensive. Weegar is a good comparable, who I would rather have at the same price, never mind $1M less. Though in fairness, this is an 8 year deal.

I have concerns about his durability as he ended both this season and last season with shoulder injuries. I have concerns if he can anchor his own pair if Hughes got hurt.

Its hard to judge his play-off performance because he could barely lift his arm, but that it keeps happening is alarming.

He's a top 4 dman that can play top pairing when paired with a better d-man.

I'd say lots of similarities for Hanifin, and they signed the exact same deal.

Not as good of a skater, and not as versatile as Hanifin, IMO.

Would you be happy with a Hanifin for Hronek trade? I would not be.

I don't think it's too expensive, although it might be a year too long. I look at this as fair value for a #3 guy. That's what he is. He was deployed as a #2 last year and performed adequately in that elevated role. So this is neither good nor bad, IMO.
