I thought of another one...

Small/Short Guy Translatability: Alex Zetterberg & Justin Poirier... Is their success translatable to the NHL? i.e. are they Johnny Gaudreau and Logan Stankoven or are they just another two small guys who destroy the junior leagues and can be stars in the AHL but just can't make that real jump to the big league?

Interesting timing on this question! We'll publish a 'Scout Survey' in the coming days and our QMJHL pegged Poirier as a player he's higher on than consensus. I'll just steal his quote here:

Quote:
Some don’t think he’s a quality prospect because of his size and flawed defensive abilities, but I don’t see it as bad as others. I think his shooting arsenal is elite, his offensive abilities are also great and his sturdy lower body will help him get through at the next level. He’ll need to work on his defensive play, but I think he has the output to score 25-to-30 goals at the pro level with a couple years of maturing.
I'll drop a link in the first post once it goes live!

Just dropped a recent mock. I had no part in this for the record, but I imagine the group here will be fine with the result.

I don't have either of those things!

And here's a little bit of a content dump:

Get to know Konsta Helenius, who could be a legit pick for the Flames at No. 9: https://nhlentrydraft.com/news/konst...nnish-prodigy/

Little Levshunov vs. Buium debate: https://nhlentrydraft.com/news/zeev-...024-nhl-draft/

And as a bonus, our top-300 ranking is now available live on the site!

Apologies for the bump. Little more content added:

Our scout survey... we polled nine of our regional guys to get some answers on the 2024 NHL Draft class, including their favourites, who'd be a reach, who was the toughest to get a firm read on, and more: https://nhlentrydraft.com/news/scout...024-nhl-draft/

If you're wondering what Konsta Helenius could bring, this is it: https://nhlentrydraft.com/news/konst...nnish-prodigy/

And, should there be a defenseman on the board at No. 9, here's how the two best from the NCAA compare: https://nhlentrydraft.com/news/zeev-...024-nhl-draft/

Reminder that you're able to snag the FCHockey 2024 NHL Draft Guide, with CP discount promo code calgarypuck here: https://nhlentrydraft.com/guide/

I'd be fine with Helenius but only if Catton and Iginla are gone, fact remains though, Iginla is not lasting to 13th as you guys have him at, deep down I suspect you know there's not 12 players with more upside either.

It's not just upside you're evaluating, either, otherwise Eiserman would be a top-3 pick. There are multiple factors that go into our rankings. Our rankings aren't a mock draft projection, which seems to be a bit of a common misconception. We're not building our rankings to be popular or to satisfy public perception... we build them out as if we were heading to the draft stage.
