Conditionals for the trade deadline picks have been determined and we missed all of them.

-no upgraded 2nd from VGK winning one round
-no upgrade 3rd from Canucks making conference finals (Thanks Oilers)
-no 3rd round pick from Stars making SCF (Thanks Oilers)

#### it - I’m calling Vegas with major injury issues in 2026, and that pick ends up top-10.

The only thing that could make this worse would be if the Flames tried to do a quick rebuild and traded away assets for decent players in their mid 20’s. I hope they fully embrace the way almost every championship team is built in the modern NHL and tank for a couple years.

I actually think we are in a great position. Unfortunately we stumbled not planned into it.

I expect most of the following gone by next trade deadline.

Anderson, sharangovich, kuzmenko, mang, markstrom, backs.

The team will probably be a tire fire next year multiple players may want out. Markstrom, mang, and one of kuzmenko, of Sharangovich seem like forgone conclusions. Coleman is a question mark, someone like ottawa, or nashville with multiple picks may offer a cant refuse package. Backs may want to chase a cup.

As much as i think tre screwed the team on purpose in an odd way it forced the teams hand. I think the start if next year will do the same for more. Losing multiple players over the last couple of years for nothing( dube) Hate a trade was apparently squashed by management which may have po’d our number one goaltender.

The good. Next two drafts look pretty good.
Stockpiling picks. Not something were used to round dese parts.
Getting picks in the future, we already have multiple picks in 26.
We already have some prospect capital. The nhl’ers i in see in our system are klapka, lipinski, Honzek, Coronnato, stromgren, suniev, and im just not sold on any of our defencemen with poirier being a question mark after injury and the two trade acquisitions.

Lots of wingers, maybe two defencemen, some interesting goaltenders and pretty much lipinski up the middle, but i dont see more than a bottom six center in him ( don’t get me wrong you need these guys)

Adding three four centers would make this look a lot better.
If you can nab one of yak, Dickinson, Buium, then grab cole bedouin who has nhl center written all over him with the lower first would go a long way to addressing our needs.

If we could snag another ten to twenty pick and grab one of the defenders, hage and Bedouin this draft looks like a steal never mind what we get in the other rounds.

I don't share the same optimism, sadly about the Flames. I don't see us making playoffs for 6 years minimum.

I do think there is a good chance the Panthers can save us from an Oilers win though.

They started a rebuild in 2013 and made the playoffs in 2015.

I think you're wrong. Surprises happen and so do good seasons, even if the team isn't fully there year.

This is really black and white thinking tbh. It isn't a linear process, but that also applies in a good sense. There are peaks along with the valleys.

There's nothing wrong with the model.
yeah one team wins...that doesn't mean the other 31 are doing it wrong

Dallas was gassed. When you have Vegas and Colorado as your first two opponents, you were dealt a bad hand.

Florida is probably going to be equally gassed then after beating 3 elite teams

If they think they will be competitive when the new arena opens theyre fooling themselves. Be patient and build it right. If these clowns try to rush things they will be right back where they always are. Good enough to be a bubble team and not good enough to actually win anything. They will tread water long enough before players want out.

I question if winning is actually their priority. Do they care more about the bottom line or are they just that incompetent with running the team? Will see if these guys have any desire to actually win with the deals they make this summer. Trading pending UFAs is a no brainer and easy decision when all of them force your hand. Can these guys actually make tougher decisions? Will see.

This place is going to meltdown if the Oilers win the cup. Bingo will have to turn off registration for months to prevent the flood of Oiler trolls coming to get their pound of flesh.

They could potentially be on an upward trajectory when the building opens, but definitely if the goal is to be competitive when the new arena opens, they are already setting themselves up for failure.

That's all they need. You draft top 5 over the next 3 drafts and that alone would have a crazy amount of interest and optimism around it. Hopefully they're able to have some depth with the draft capital they accumulate and maybe a trade or signing or two. I guess it depends what the definition of competitive is but I just hope they're patient. Fans will flock to a new building with new young stars even if they're not an elite team yet. There is no need to rush things.

I predict Vegas injury issues will be resolved for game one of the playoffs.

This is all Tavares's fault. Had he just stayed on Long Island the Leafs would have had money to keep Hyman and the Oilers would still be cycling wingers on the top line.

I’m just ignoring all hockey media. I will watch the games and hope for Florida to win. Smile and change the convo when my Oiler co-workers say anything.

No use in wallowing.

This has been without a doubt the worst playoffs since 06.

2011 was bad. It ended well but it was bad.
