Which is my only issue with the Vancouver deal. I don't see Hoglander going out while being an every day player. You move two roster players for one and you are still looking for another body.
I maintain that if a Lindholm to Vancouver deal were to have materialized it would have been Podkolzin and a 1st. Now, I don't see it happening. I think the Canucks just moved down their list. I won't be shocked if Vancouver makes the deal before the end of their bye-week/All-Star Weekend.

Because the second post was "These deals are bad, we should expect more" which I think is something worth talking about since I disagree.

Ok. Are you done?
Hf Canucks is over there.
Let the Flames fans talk about their Flames retool and discuss some fun possibilities. Not every conversation needs your wet blanket presence and I don't know why you feel inclined to weigh in on everything and over populate it with posts that aren't adding anything.

I think we might see a 'sign and trade' with Lindholm. In fact, I think we're going to see the 'sign and trade' become an increasingly significant move over the next number of years generally across the league.
So in regards to that Vancouver proposal, which IMO is the best one, I could only see it happening if Lindholm is signed first. If he's not, that makes absolutely no sense for Van.

You guys can relax about Edmonton, they are playing Vegas in round one...surely they will "find a way" to add to their team big time.

I think it's more likely if there's a deal in place. I still don't see the Canucks moving out two pieces (one of them having a bad time, mind you) of a winning roster for one. But I do think it's more plausible if there is an extension in place.
That being said, I thought the expectation was Lindholm wanted to test himself in the UFA market?

I'm a wet blanket on overly optimistic expectations, this is true. But that is just part of the conversation in these sorts of discussions. I'm not the only one cautioning expectations. However, I am willing to bet a majority of people here don't view my takes as being a wet blanket. Heck, I'm even willing to bet people don't feel like I'm adding nothing. Just people who can't get past I happen to cheer for another team. There's like... four of you.

I couldnt agree more...again, I admittedly suck at determining values so I largely dont even try.
And as I said...just so long as we're not the ones giving him an 8 x $10M.
I dont think he's worth that and our salary structure is already so screwed we cant accomodate that.

Dallas: 2024 1st, Mavrik Bourque, Sam Steel

Interesting. First I've heard of a few of these guys, so I had to do some research.
None of these picks are going to be any lower than the 20's, so that's sort of a wash.
Vegas' 2nd round pick with two crappy throw ins? Get out of here.
Colorado intrigues me because of Ritchie. Still a potential high end prospect if he continues developing. O'Connor is a warm body.
Vancouver has potential because I like Hoglander's game, and Kuzmenko had a flash last year, but based on his career so far, last year seems to be the outlier. Hoglander is just young enough to be considered part of a new young core, so I do pause to consider this one.
I really like both players in the Boston proposition, even if they are going to be lower on the depth chart. Frederic really knows how to play a winning style of game. Poitras is young and has a lot of potential. Looked pretty good at the recent WJC. My only hesitation is that the pick is 2025, but that could be a good thing because they may not be as good next year.
I don't think much of Sam Steel and I'm not sure that Bourque is a good enough prospect to consider the Dallas deal.
Winnipeg has the weakest offer as their prospect is virtually a nobody, but I do like Appleton. Unfortunately, he's already 28 years old.
If I had to rank these deals:
Boston
Vancouver
Colorado
Dallas
Winnipeg
Vegas

Give me Colorado not only because I think its one of the best packages there but sending Lindholm there decreases the chances of a Canucks/Oilers cup run.

Chaz Lucius is a nobody? 1st rounder, PPG at WJC, almost PPG in the AHL at age 20. Seems pretty promising.
I'm guessing Appleton has to be included to make the cap work but he's only making 1.5 years x $2.1M, very tradeable too. We can even send him back to Winnipeg next year for more stuff since he seems to like it there.

Good point, but I bet he's been humbled this season and is probably more nervous now. A solid extension and trade to a top team would probably look a lot tastier than it did last summer.

Most of those offers are Horvat level, and I doubt Lindholm gets Horvat money anymore.

If I had to choose one of those deals, I would likely choose Colorado.
Ritchie is a centre with size and O'Connor is young and proven pro.
All the 1st round picks will be 20 or higher and I trust our scouts to find a good player there.
Mavrik Bourque is the only player giving me a little hesitation because he is more proven than (pro) than Ricthie.

No he didn't. Including he's an active member of our fantasy league
You don't need to attack every fan of every other team on this site.
Blaster has been here regardless of how the Canucks are doing. And he actually contributes to the discussions.

I think Boutique is an excellent prospect, tearing up the AHL at a young age.
The Hockey News has him ranked #13 of drafted prospects, right between Danielson and Perrault.
