This is a perfect example of why it is silly when people say Lindholm has no trade value, because he's having a down year ("Monahan is probably worth more!"). Does anyone seriously think that Gaudreau isn't just as talented and valuable as he has been for the past few years? Given better circumstances, there is no reason at all to believe that he couldn't be a 100 pt player again. He just needs a better situation. (and yes, he chose very poorly)
So now, try the same exercise with Lindholm, without the everything-Flames-is-garbage bias - he is still the player he was, he is simply in a bad situation and needs change. (that is not directed at you, cam_calderon)

Commentary pointing out Lindholm is not a No.1 centre in the traditional, play-driving sense is fair, I think. He isn't and never really was that. I think there's a fit for him in Colorado, Boston and most likely Vancouver, if Alvin decides they're all in.
Does he fetch a first rounder? We'll see.

The home team will lead by 2 goals then cough up the lead in the 3rd. Big two pints closer to the top 5 picks overall.
Please give CBJ the 2 points.

No team that is acquiring Lindholm is looking for an elite 1C. Doesn't mean he can't fetch a first rounder or isn't worth more than Monahan. He's actually the model of what teams with big aspirations look to add at the TDL. I could see Vegas looking at him with Eichel's return date so uncertain, as a stop gap with Stephenson. If the can juggle cap or keep Eichel out until POs that's a huge addition.

I wouldn't hate it if there were plenty of his jerseys stocked up in the fanattic, I could use to spend a little money right now

That is maybe the only logic I can see in this choice.

I don't think so.
The pairings in practice yesterday were
Kylington - Oesterle
Gilbert - Desimone
At first I thought it was because Oestele is a righty, he isn't, but he plays both sides. So my only explanation is that Huska doesn't like playing Gilbert on the right side, and likes Oesterle better than Desimone.
