I can't shake the truth that playing structured hockey and not succumbing to the intimidation of McDavid leads to easy wins.
I feel like the 2 guys get teams off their game way too often with a couple pretty plays. When 90% of the roster is pedestrian and easy to out-skill and effort, it's sad that teams are getting their show run. Especially good ones that are vet-laden.
As annoying as it is to see them succeed, sometimes they brute force their way to wins with the game breaking talent they've accumulated.
Another goal was on an extended delayed penalty call, it was basically 2. And McDavid had points on every goal. Their whole team is 2 players and the PP, it's nauseating.

No matter what there's no denying that they have vastly underperformed for the talent and picks they've been gifted.
To be fighting for playoffs from the outside is a pretty massive failure. And the McDavid era as a whole has been a failure as well.
Giving the team credit especially in the position it's in is being incredibly flattering to a team that should have a lot more team success at this point for the talents it's had to work with.
Most organizations would not have squandered that many McDavid years.

If anything this is comforting. They have gone back to do what they have always had to do. Play the mcpissy twins 25+ min a night. No learning from the losing streak. No changes. Nothing.
This is the same team bounced every year and that clock is ticking

Very true. There's absolutely nothing different about this iteration.
Same #### just with a worse cap structure blowing more dead cap on Brown. Nothing learned from years past. Just try to offense past the deficiencies until the games matter, better opponents dig in and the calls for clutching on to opponents sticks no longer come at will.
The Jets look like they may hang on and win tonight, after a pretty dull first. They look fantastic in the last 40

Hey White Out, your team has now won 4 straight games against the Bolts. Hellebuck was the key to victory here as he made 30 saves. Namestinkov with 3 assists to haunt his former team. Barron gets 2 points as well. The only blemishes in this game for the Jets were the special teams. The PP was 0/3 and the PK was 1/3. Kucherov and Hedman each had 2 points for the Bolts on their PPGs.
The Jets love playing eastern conf. teams so far this season because they are undefeated against them, 10-0-3. The Jets are soaring right now, 7-0-2 in their past nine games, 11-1-2 in their past 14 games, and that puts them just 1 point back of the Canucks and Avs for 1st place in the western conf. The Jets are also 2 points back of the Bruins for 1st overall!

I think that's not fair to Hyman who has arguably been their best forward in the first half of the season. Maybe Holland's lone solid move as GM.
Yeah he's been good for sure. He's also on a line with McDavid, that helps a lot.
I just don't think it's a coincidence that when McDavid was clearly struggling playing through an injury at the beginning of the year, the Oilers badly struggled. And now that he seems back to his old self again, the Oilers are winning. He's the straw that stirs that drink, and they're not going anywhere without him.
The Canucks were dominating anyways, but man they had some good luck as well, specifically on the last two goals. When it rains it pours sometimes.
PDO ROCKET TO THE MOON! NEXT STOP, 25% SHOOTING PERCENTAGE IS SUSTAINABLEVILLE! LETS GOOOOOOO

This year. It's why Cheech was asked to step back. I have mixed feelings on this as I like Ray and doubt he asked for that but John and John were actually the best.
