Yes, but that is also over a period of six years from 2015–2021. Zary was drafted in 2020, and the only players that Dallas had selected by this point in the same cycle are Heiskenen and Hintz. The Flames tend to draft really well, so this seems to me like a pretty realistic target.

Does it help to quell your disappointment by seeing that in 2015 the Flames picked Rasmus Anderson with their first pick, a full round and 41-selections after Dallas drafted Denis Gurianov? Or, that the Flames 2020 first-rounder is already playing NHL games, and contributing at a top-line rate while Mavik Bourque has yet to debut for Dallas?
There are always players that fans feel their favourite team missed out on, and there will always be players that outperform their draft selection.
