I guess Evanson's time was over. They wanted a new voice in the room. Doesn't mean Hynes has to be a better coach... Is Minnesota hoping to bounce back this year or are they hoping to get Celebrini to play with Kaprizov?

With the Oilers win last night, they passed them in the standings. That's both embarrassing and unacceptable. Logical choice is to clean house.

Hynes has been an NHL coach for 8 seasons...never won a playoff round, never had a record above .600.

And I'll never understand the Suter buyout. There had to have been a team that would have taken him at $4M if they would have retained $3.5M. He was still a top 4 d-man when he was bought out.

Even Parise...as bad as he was I feel like you could have convinced Lou Lamoriello that he wanted him for 50% retained, but at least that buyout made a little sense.
The NMCs put them over a barrel, and I think some recapture pain was inevitable if they retired early.

But it is crazy that these two years the cap hit is like $600k worse than if they were still playing (when you factor a replacement player at league min.)
