Then he will be a Flame. nobody wants Kadri at 7m for 5 more years after this age 33-38.
Slight chance if we could take an equally bad contract back but not sure there is one that makes sense.

We need to be patient in a Kadri or Huberdeau deal. Just cause he wants out doesn't mean he have to move him right away.
If he plays well enough, maybe there is a team that has a bad contract that might want him.
Or a team like Arizona or Buffalo will take him full salary for next to nothing

Quite a bit from Lebrun on the Athletic as well
- Hanifin extension was close to $60M. Off the table for the team and the player
- buzz around the league the Flames are open for business
- teams want to talk extension with Lindholm, Hanifin, Tanev which should help the flames return. Extensions will be part of the discussion
- no rush deadline is March 8th
- 3-4 teams shown interest in Tanev including the Leafs (who are in on Zadorov)
- do the flames trade Tanev soon to avoid injury risk?
- Van and NJ in on Zadorov
- Canucks GM confirmed he wants to add a D

IMO, they need to sell sooner than the deadline. This team could still go on a winning streak and ruin their draft position.
late 1sts, 2nds and 3rds are very unlikely to be franchise altering picks.
1st overall is very likely to be franchise altering. Even 2nd or 3rd OV is likely to be franchise altering. Only San Jose looks awful, the door is open for 2nd last spot.

Treliving did, slightly over a year ago. Wonder what he'd think now.

To me, the term rebuild only holds water if wolf is not the real deal at the nhl level. If he comes as advertised, the veteran core :
Forward - Huberdeau, Kadri, Backlund
defense- anderson, weegar
Goal - wolf
Is a pretty strong group to teach a bunch of eager kids. Could hit playoffs just on fun and effort.

Kadri should be able to retain part of his own salary in order to facilitate a trade out of town.

I go back and forth. I want the offers to be the best and bidders being serious. I don’t think they should be looking to make 4-6 trades on deadline day and likely spread out some of these deals. If a team steps up then no need to wait. Like the Flames did with Todfoli in 2022 they got him more than a month before the deadline.
If they bring up some wranglers and play loose they might be better than they are now all depressed and waiting for the shoe to drop. The tank might be more secure with the current group

Lol maybe some GM is dumb enough to trade for Kadri. Pretty much confirmed the trade request didn’t hurt Zadarov’s value. GMs already tried.

Yeah. If they hold on to all their D then they could weaken the market. One of the D and Lindholm is fine.

Picks picks picks picks. Move Tanev and Zadorov as soon as possible. While big Z is healthy their stlye of physical play worries me about losing a trade due to injury
