Zary-Kadri-Pospisil
I actually like this - Kadri seems to be finding some GAF and energy by playing with young guys...kinda reminds me of Hudler that way (albeit a different style). Seems more engaged and energized. Would keep this kind of line going and see if it keeps Kadri on the upside.

Shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic once again, I see. Sadly, the deck chairs appear somewhat wobbly and damaged, or simply not very good chairs, so I'm not sure an arrangement can be found that will ensure the iceberg goes away.

Ah the proverbial deck chairs on the Titanic moves. That's why they make the big bucks and I'm just a fan

You'd still get line shake ups that don't make sense and questionable deployment late in games & at key times.
You don't miss him as much as you think. Unless we're talking about the value he brings in pressers.

Hubersoft shouldn't have been on the first line after being benched.. that much was clear to me. He shouldn't have been first on the shootout either.. that's just too much pressure on the struggling lad

Why not? They were much better under him. The fact they didn’t like what it took to be good tells us we have the wrong players, not that we had the wrong coach.

If they kept the lines the same after last game I'm sure we'd have posters complaining about that too.
Whatever. It's just not a very good team, so if they want to keep moving lines around go for it. Maybe Backlund is finally the one to click with Huberdeau, but I have my doubts. I like the Zary-Kadri-Pospisil line, got some jam.

Is this the first time Huberdeau has been on the Backlund line? Honestly, I like it.

He's the perfect rebuild coach. Conroy said as much in the hiring press conference when he said he appreciated that Huska didn't mind losing in the AHL. That was a real Huska promo... This guy is good with losing. Conroy 3 steps ahead.

CP says Huberdeau and Lindholm isnt working and they need to try something else.
Backlund makes players on his line better. Huska puts Huberdeau with Backlund likely to try and get him going and CP has a hissy fit.

If you want to get rid of him. I’m sure you can get rid of him. It just won’t be pretty. Best case is he gets his head out of his ass. Next best you find someone he meshes with. Last resort you eat salary for him to play elsewhere.

Not only too much pressure on him but, to my eyes, his release on his shots is way too slow to be considered for the shootout. That and/or he telegraphs his shot. He's just not suited for the shootout.

That's what I was referring to. We need to trade to get someone he can play with because I agree we won't be able to move him.

Still miss him. He was a goalie away from having a contender last season and we were a favorite heading into the playoffs, the previous season.

So when the kids make mistakes, Kadri is the type of player to cover for them.

This year, yes. Last year he finished the season on that line (I forget who the RW was) and in the last dozen games or so was second on the team in points after Toffoli.
It's not a bad combo. Backlund likes to carry and Coleman is a good forechecker and loves to go to the net.

I just don’t like the breaking up of the Kadri line. They didn’t play well against Ottawa but no one did really on a back to back. Sharangovich is finally looking like a top 6 option and they shuffle him down to the 4th line. Way to destroy his confidence.
There are plenty of other lines to mix and match, there’s no need to touch that line.
