I am wondering if some of the cycling is to see what we have in case Hanifin or Tanev gets moved. Are any of the kids NHL ready? Can we move on from either of them (or both) without having to bring in another top 4 D?
Gilbert is. Solovyov seems to be. Poirier would be up here already if not for the injury, IMO. Now, DeSimone gets a look.
IMO the Flames can maintain this 'level' with another young D playing every night. And by Feb they might even be able to get away with having two of them.
