Solovyov should be up playing full time. Honestly I'm not fond of Gilbert either.

In the short term all the team can do to satisfy the fan base is to replace the fringe guys with our top prospects. I wonder how long until we see Wolf arrive?
Hoping this means Solo is coming up for an extended stay.

I wonder if Solo will be up with the big club soon, or maybe it's a move to clear some space for a potential Dube - Duclair swap. Duclair has 1G, and is a -8 with the Sharks this season. Dube has 1G, 3P, and is a -10 this season.

I'd be shocked if Conroy trades Dube, he talked glowingly of him in the off-season. If they acquire Duclair, it'll be for a pick or prospect, which will piss off the fan base.
I don't think personnel is the issue so I'm not sure bringing in Duclair will even change anything. It's just not a right match between Huberdeau and any defensively inclined coach. Huberdeau needs a very specific system (basically, no defense) in order to succeed; he's not like Johnny or Tkachuk or other star players who can adapt their game to play in any system.

Wow. If that's not sending a message to the team, I don't know what will.
Conny and Husky aren't fooling around

Agree with others that I hope this signals Solovyov has secured a roster spot. Hasn't looked out of place at the NHL level at all.

I remember, everyone had very high expectations from Dube in the off-season. Right now he looks like a candidate for a change of scenery though. His reads in the D zone have been subpar so far.
I also can't see this team adding another forward without shipping one out. I don't think that Kadri, Huberdaeu, Mangiapane, Backlund, and Coleman will move anywhere. Lindholm is a deadline deal, so that leaves Sharangovich, and Dube as potential top 9 move candidates.

Yes. Traveling and practicing with the big club is incredibly valuable. I think it is vastly overrated when people make an issue about a younger player sitting from time to time. If he's NHL ready then get him in the NHL. Same goes with the forward group (and goal). I'd rather have a good young player pushing these established vets who look like crap than someone who isn't a threat to take their ice time.
There's no reason the Flames bottom 2-3 D shouldn't be on a rotation as hardly anyone is playing well enough to deserve a locked in spot. If Solovyov comes up and gets 1-2 games a week on average that will be good for the team and his own development.

He started the year as the #6, and exclusively played with one of Zadorov or Tanev throughout preseason.
He played himself out of the lineup because he is the player the entire hockey world already knew he was, much like Dryden Hunt.
