High-schooler in Connecticut last year..

Petgrave is already getting hate mail, racist hate mail at that.

I mean...what else can you say?

What it takes to get a skate blade anywhere near another person's neck takes a veritable sequence of highly improbable events coinciding all at once.

It is...its just God-awful luck.

Thats small comfort for his family though.

Why are neck guards not really a thing at higher levels?

It was just men's hockey but my uncle accidentally cut a guy's throat with his skate.

The guy survived by my uncle never played hockey again after that.

There is definitely part of me that wants to see what happened...because it must have been a very strange sequence.

But there is an equally great part of me that never wants to see it. Its a tragedy and leave it at that.

I just unintentionally saw it on Twitter. There's people questioning whether it was intentional or not because the guy apparently has a history of bad behavior in the EIHL.

It looks like he flying kicks him and it was a very akward attempt at throwing a check.

The guy that cut him barley bumped another panther player and that made him do like a Shawn Michael's super kick.

It IMO Looked like the steelers player was trying to sell the pick and he was just looking to make it look like the pick made him trip up adam in the process but just got his skates up way too high.

I don't know after watching the video if the guy should be held responsible for the death or not. There is a case for manslaughter if they tried. There is definite intent to catch the player to slow him down for sure. I definently don't think his intent was to slice the guys throat. He definitely was looking to catch a peice of him tho. He was 100% trying to sell the pick and make it look like the pick also caused him to hit the attacking player.

Only one person ever died from a puck over the glass that I know of. There are now nets on every arena.

Yeah I’ve watched the video and it’s extremely bizarre. You can tell why people are saying it looks intentional, because it does. The other incidents I’ve watched of this (Zednik and Malarchuk) were very obviously freak accidents, I don’t really know what to think of this one. It’s not a way I’ve ever seen a hockey player move or react, and I’ve watched a LOT of hockey.

I'm not going to post it here, but this looks like flat out f##king murder by a guy who's basically got a reputation for being extremely dangerous in that league.

If someone wants to see it, its at the following linked.

But he lifted his skate off of the ice in a kicking motion.

I decided to watch it. made my guts churn.
I don't know if there has been a play so reckless since the Maki stick swinging incident.

Hearing about it made me think it was a tragic accident. Watching the video without knowing anything about the player involved makes me think he did intend to kick him that high.

They seriously have to get the police involved for an investigation.

poor guy.
and going to be a tough one for his family and friends to deal with.
goddammit.

I watched the incident last night and it did not seem natural or accidental. I will be interested in whether or not this turns into a criminal charge.

It is such a weird video. Loses his balance while going for a check. Loses balance and kicks his leg out and basically karate kicks the poor dude
