The constant juggling of lines after a loss is getting frustrating.

You won't build much chemistry if you keep changing lines.

If you didn't feel like skating during the game cool. You can make up for it during practice.

The pieces don't fit. There isn't much chemistry they can build at all

I think SuperMatt said that Huberdeau-Lindholm-Coronato performed in their (very) short time together.

So, if we have that, and a 3rd and 4th that works, run it that way and let Ruzicka-Kadri-Dube figure it out or be a black hole together or whatever.

The Huberdeau-Lindhom-Mangiapane trio looked to have built something from Buffalo to Columbus.

Huska went crazy since that time with the line juggling.

Honestly feels like last year when Sutter pulled the line blender after a 5-1 start and we went down the toilet.

You let the team settle in and play Detroit with those lines and maybe they breakout.

Now they look like a team that has zero chemistry.

I think Lindholm legitimately does not like playing with Huberdeau or something. They haven’t stayed on a line for an extended period of time

If we haven't tried it already (or for any length of time), I'd love to see Huby and Coronato with a solid 2-way center to keep them in check. Huby seems wired to do 'cute' creative things but nobody else seems to click with what he wants to do. Let him and Coronato gel a bit so he can do the creative things I'm sure he wants to do to setup Coronato. Just have a solid 2-way centerman there to cover their asses when they get caught taking chances.

I really think going from the run-and-gun style in Florida to anything but is likely what's ailing him. Give him another creatively minded winger to feed.

Because Lindholm is being asked to do something he has never done in Calgary which is transport the puck into the offensive zone.

You have two guys who want to play a trailer position and get the puck in the offensive zone, they don't want to skate it in.

Really you do you want your #1C to be the puck carrier.

Probably a good reason to move on from Lindholm.

Swap Kadri and Backlund.

Backlund and Huberdeau played well together last season outscoring the opposition 17-7 at five on five. I understand not wanting to separate the Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman line but they are not producing currently either despite great underlaying numbers.

I would roll with :
Ruzicka-Lindholm-Mangaipane
Dube-Backlund-Coleman
Huberdeau-Shaggy-Coronato
Greer-Kadri-Deuhr

Slowly on our way to a $17.5M+ 4th line

I always said the pre-season should be shorter.

Flames could have used another ten games to figure out their ####ty lines.

Maybe its possible they have no chemistry up front whatseover.

Not sure why they are saving Zary

Most of the guys drafted before him already had a taste of the NHL

Yup, if they didn't have Kadri I could stomach it because they could go find a #2 center that can carry the puck but you can't have Lindholm and Kadri locked up for 16 million on term.

Most sensible way forward. Let the talented guys work through it themselves. Doesn't happen overnight.

From 2022-23

Huberdeau - Kadri - Pelletier

TOI: 151:43
Corsi For %: 62.07
Shots For - Against: 92 - 49
Goals For - Against: 5 - 7
Scoring Chances For - Against : 100 - 59
On Ice Shooting %: 5.43
On Ice Save %: 85.71

This line was pretty effective but got PDO'd into oblivion. They outshot and outchanced their opponents badly, but were outscored and eventually the coaches stopped using them.

Huberdeau - Kadri - Lucic

TOI: 184:01
Corsi For %: 54.10
Shots For - Against: 101 - 89
Goals For - Against: 11 - 7
Scoring Chances For - Against : 91 - 89
On Ice Shooting %: 10.89
On Ice Save %: 92.13

To be honest, if they would have just stuck with the Huberdeau-Kadri-Pelletier trio instead of bringing in Ritchie and going with vets, there is a good chance that their luck would have improved and they would be outscoring their opponents.

The reason I bring this up is that Coronato is a bit like Pelletier, he plays right wing (so Huberdeau can stay on his left wing), and he's a goal scorer by trade. I can see why they would try it out.

I’m actually good with huberdeau and kadri on the same line. They can work at it until they figure their stuff out, and if not it only kills one line. Otherwise they’re going to kill 2 separate lines.

This should be the thing preventing signing Lindholm, unless you see Hub and Kadri as the 2nd line

Alright so I’m not a coach or systems expert, but how do the hawks, Sabres and jersey look fast? Does Huska need to open things up? I watched some OOT tonight and was blown away of watching those teams and the Flames.

What system is Huska using compared to the Hawks? Or even the 2021 Panthers?
