Already the sixth best defenseman in my eyes. Good for him. I hope does well and doesn't have to go back down. Would rather send down Oesterle to get himself together.

Don't ever tell me that 7th round picks are pointless. Between him and Wolf we've already hit a couple home runs in that round.

Weegar, Datsyuk come to mind as great 7th round picks.
Hornqvist was a good one as well.
Not a throwaway round. None of them are.

So is it safe to say Kylington's time a Flame is most likely done? I feel for what he's dealing with, but at this point, I'll be pretty surprised if he comes back this year.

Hopefully he is able to calm his nerves and plays a simple and effective game tonight, and does it well enough to stay in the lineup permanently.
He does have Conroy on his side who has mentioned on more than one occasion that if a young kid is equal to a vet, then the young kid will grab that spot. Hope he does grab it.

Oesterle has been another pro scouting blunder. At least the other scouts are finding late round gems like this guy.

Nothing safe about it.
We have no idea what he is doing? What plan he has? Has he told them he's done for his career? Has he told him that he's returning to Sweden to talk to people he's comfortable with with a plan of returning in January?
Not picking on you at all ... but I don't think it's safe to assume anything at this point.

guy was supposed to be 7th or 8th...he is decent there, likely better than most teams 7/8
hardly a "blunder"

Re: Kylington, this is the last year on his deal. I think it is safe to say his time with the Flames is finished.
He's missed 2 training camps and a full season in between.
Not like he was a veteran player with a ton of ice time behind him when he stepped away either. He was also benefitting from playing with Tanev who has proven to make young defenders look pretty good.

Solo is outstanding. Just so smooth, so steady. I remember talking to Love just offhand in Laval last year and you could just tell how impressed he was by Solovyov's poise and defensive ability. His pairing with DeSimone has been rock-solid ever since it was put together.

So the Flames are calling up Solovyov because Oesterle is killing it as a #6?
Think Oesterle gets waived if Solovyo plays well.

That is the point, he wasn't supposed to be six...incase you haven't noticed two other dmen are out
so he was 8th, not shocking your 8th dman isn't playing every game. There is enough to be frustrated about but calling out scouts because the 8th dman can't play every night is not one of them. Honestly for a #8 he has shown some flashes...time to give someone else a look though.
Oesterle was supposed to be in the press box most of the season, especially on the road while the prospects get all the time with the Wranglers

Yep, I was actually quite happy when they signed Oesterle. Good veteran depth who can play both sides and a game or two in spot duty.
This isn't spot duty.
