I like the looks of the Lindholm and Backlund line.
That Kadri line has the potential to be awful, a lot riding on Dube playing with energy IMO.
I agree - I like the Lindholm and Backlund lines. I think there is potential for the Kadri line. And I am very curious to see what Sharangovich looks like at C, especially with two bangers and crashers.
Duehr and Sharangovich have the skill to move up the line up. Ruzicka and to a lesser extent Coleman and Dube need to show they belong up the line up. I like it. Lots of flexibility with Zary/Klapka/Schwindt waiting in the wings.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
Hoping for much better performances from Huberdeau, Hanifin and Sharangovich.
I actually liked Sharangovich against the Jets. Nothing spectacular jumped out but I liked his defensive responsibility (one gaff/miscue that I spotted aside, but it wasn't just him on that particular play that resulted in a dangerous scoring chance), showed some nice puckhandling, and liked his skating, which is one of his noted strengths, of course.
I would like to see him with some shooting opportunities and sure they will come. Intrigued by the fit with Greer and Duehr - could be quite the pesky 4th line that teams will hate to play against.

Yeah that's three players that don't jump out to me as strong in their end.
Dube has always been at the bottom of the forward groups for events against ... Kadri was supposed to be but we haven't seen much of it. Ruzicka has decent defensive numbers last year (something I need to watch specifically)
Fun part of the start to this season? The opponents.
Jets
Penguins
Capitals
Sabres
First four teams we play are all teams you can comfortably look at as teams in the "mushy middle" which is where I'd slot the Flames in as well. Are we good mushy middle, middle mushy middle, or bottom mushy middle team? Columbus and Detroit, the next two teams are teams trying to push out of being bottom teams and into that mushy middle.

Markstrom stole us Game 1 vs. the Jets.
Excited to see what happens tonight!
We always do well on this trip.
Middle of the pack opponents, and gives the new group some time to gel and get to know each other. I think this is going to be a fun road trip.
Also I love that the Flames play in NY always at this time. Same week as their comic convention, fun trip to hit both.
Fair point that he got the 2 points, but my impression from watching the game was that he was pretty meh. Listening to Huska's comments after the game seemed to imply he also wants to see more from him (Steinberg also interpreted Huska's remarks the same way I do, but I'm not saying that means we're right, just saying...).

Yeah I'm looking for Huberdeau to start making more of an impact at even strength. Hopefully we some some offense created during 5v5 play today!
