No need to give Baby Wolf grease related PTSD at this stage.

Not that were really surprised, but with Coronato held out I'd say its a safe bet he's made the team
He's been absolutely fantastic this pre-season, he's put in the work and deserves every bit of it.

Still don't really see the point in a game like this.
What chance do prospects have against 85% of the A squad Oilers with next to zero A squad Flames to play with?
Not harping on the Flames as we've seen it through the pre season.
But at least the Jets sent their number one goaltender, and another 10 players expected to be on their final roster on Monday night.

Guessing it's more to do with giving the vets a break.

They could have sat say Kadri on Monday night and Zary center that line.
Not gone with a starting six defenseman on Monday and had Weegar and Andersson play tonight.

Disagree.!!!
This kids a.F in champ. How many guys say you win or you learn? With that attitude and the fact that he's dominated in every league and named MVP and has humility beyond his age me thinks he's a tough egg.to Crack.
I think he's got Kipperesque ice.bloodn in his veins ....and he will defeat the black rubber disc as the fake Kipper used to say ....and pull the entrails of ?? Out of ?? Yeah....just disturbingly good fun

One thing I will be wondering about is how Nurse is after the whistles with Lucic gone. I am expecting that he will be a little more active.

It’s a meaningless game at the end of the day and there is still one more game to get the main roster fired up before opening night. The way I see it this is a positive and a change in philosophy in terms of prospects and their growth cycle. One more measuring stick game before they go back to their respective leagues and playing against McDavid and Draisaitl could have a good lasting effect on their next year of development. I think it’s a solid decision!

Enter Adam Klapka; I really hope he gets under Nurses skin which seems to be an easy thing to accomplish

Taking a while to get to 5000

I'd be more worried about Kane who has already taken some cheap shots in pre season.

Klapka is not a deterrent at all. He is big in stature, but man he his horrible when the fists start flying.

If the Oilers come to play and the Flames get beat 5-1 how is that great for anyone's development?

It's them who should be worried. They don't want to get injured against the Wranglers. Plenty of these guys will never have a better chance to make a name for themselves than taking a run at McDavid

Gilbert, and maybe Ciona and Pospisil will have to be the deterrents. It'll be an issue this year though when we play the full lineup.

Preseason= dress stars at home so fans paying NHL price for tickets are seeing the players they want to see. Away dress the players you want to evaluate.
Don't forget last Friday we had pretty much our opening night roster and they had their minor league team and we lost... Would be super Awesome if we could return the favor. E=NG

This AHL-ish lineup is more truculent than the eventual NHL lineup so it sort of makes sense from that perspective to go with this group for tonight's game. The refs are more likely to crack down on tomfoolery in a regular-season game than tonight's.
