Probably because he switched the environment that he was in. Back at home he had his long standing home, friends , parents , support team. Now he’s changed environments and probably some stress added on training camp start. Not hard to see how he could relapse.

With the 1% we know about the situation it's impossible to say.
He thought he was ready. He wasn't.
Wouldn't be the first case like that I'm sure.

Pretty sure backlund said in interview that he was glad to see kylington , team needs him , but his mental health is top priority . That was day one of camp.

I don't know how you can extract anything meaningful from those lines. The only one that looks like something we could see in a game is the top line. It is still way, way too early to think we can see anything remotely meaningful about how the Day One Roster will shake out.

I don't think he specifically said "mental health," but more generally "health," or well-being. It looks like that could be the issue, but we are all just guessing here.

Anyone who has watched the Wranglers think he can crack the lineup in a sheltered offensive role?
With Kylington out we need some offensive pop and skating and he seems to he a very intriguing prospect.

Watched every game, he got better as the season went on, but not yet.
He's very good offensively. But he's still a liability, too selfish and tries to be too flashy. I think by Christmas he'll be ready

With Huberdeau here you know he's got an insidious plan to shoehorn as many French players as he can onto the roster.
Its a conspiracy! A conspiracy I tell you! Its why they fired Treliving!

I get that. That’s what I saw.
But still. Based on his play at the world juniors and the men’s tournament I figured he would have stood out more.

Even 21/22 Flames coming into camp didn't start the season the same way.
Johnny was on the 2nd line we also Brad Richardson and Pitlick.
The defence was a question mark.
I think a lot will change between now and November to settle into a stable lineup.

One more comment about Coronato. He seems like an uber competitive guy. That’s the main reason I would leave him up. If he’s not successful at the start of the season he won’t fold. It’ll piss him off and drive him to get better.

That was one of his main strengths listed during the draft a non stop motor.
Add the speed and shot I think we got ourselves a really good player going forward.
