I was told what he did was no big deal. That all the former players were just bitter whiners and that the spittin' chiclets crew were making things up.

I think the truth is that their experience of what happened was probably a little different than that a lot of the other players, and they were also pretty concerned about the need for damage control. They are veterans, team leaders, and undoubtedly saw how bad this was for their team heading into camp ahead of a very important season for them.

Say what you will about Babcock the man, but Babcock the coach was undefeated during his tenure with the Blue Jackets. It’s a record that will speak for itself.
