Maybe it’s just me, but I grew up with stick swinging and I still like it. My favourite memories involve stick swinging heroics from guys like Probert and McSorley. I would stop watching clips of beer league hockey online if they took stick swinging out of the game.
Why, when I was your age, my pappy would hit me upside the head with a stick and beat me until I saw red, and I turned out just fine. Buncha sissies, I tell ya hwhat.

I'll stick to some pick-up shinny with the old guys.
Yeah, I just do a weekly game of pickup with friends and friends of friends. Guys who get intense and chippy are quickly asked to leave. Nobody wants to get hurt... incidentally I found a slippery spot on the ice, fell down and separated my shoulder!

Guys who attack with sticks in a stupid rec game should be criminally charged. I can’t believe they’re not.

Most of these guys look like they can barely skate. I used to ref mens leagues many years ago and it was always the guys that took the game up later in life doing the dumbest stuff

Which can then escalate into full on ballyhoo leading to an outright Donnybrook!

Bunch of dumb rednecks looking to whale on someone. I guess it's better to do it on the ice than at home.

Apparently charges are only laid if the donnybrook breaks out into pandemonium.

One has to draw the line somewhere.

I mean if a scrap turns into a ruckus and then escalates into a rumble then one must mediate the dispute, but use of a hockey stick as an engine of destruction shant be tolerated!

Hitting people with your stick in a fight is not the cure to male loneliness.

Who was in the most danger in the video? The guy getting hit with the stick by the guy on the bench, or the gut being fed fists against the boards?

I saw parents fight at family shinny at Westside rec. They had to close it down because of it. Coincidentally their kids are high level players in the Dub now. Fataing idiots.
