They have a 2025 first to trade I guess. With maybe Zacha or Debrusk (it'd probably be Debrusk). Maybe an underperforming minor leaguer like Lysell.

Zacha+lysell for hanifin= yes

For lindy that's pretty slim.

For a team wanting to win now that won’t be enticing for Conroy. Their prospect base is weak and they lack in prime talent the Flames would want if they give up Lindholm.

Flames have pieces Boston wants but they do not make a good trade partner from Calgary’s perspective.
But c'mon, cobble together an insane three-team deal so we can dream

Though, if Boston is willing to trade zacha and the 25 1st for lindy... that could be interesting. They might be pretty bad in 2 seasons. Could be a risky pick for them to give up.

It's supply and demand though and who are the alternate dance partners for the Flames and Lindy? We know his value but offers aren't out there, what can Conroy do?

Some of Bruins' "top" prospects, fwiw. I concure though - definitely will be hard for Flames to win in a deal with the Bruins...would have to be quite the package starting with Lysell - with him, Frederic?, plus?, plus?

It would always be protected to some degree.

Great player, great captain, and most importantly a great person. They should re-name the Selke after him. Enjoy retirement Patrice. Next stop: the Hockey Hall Of Fame

I think if the Flames officially make Lindholm available there will be a significant amount of demand. Just because Boston desperately would want Lindholm doesn’t mean they can afford him

They can't. They would have to bring in a 3rd team or make a different deal beforehand to make it work and that is only if the Flames make Lindholm available, I still believe they are still intent on getting him to extend.

Probably the 2nd best 200ft Center of his generation behind only Crosby.

Just the prototype for what you want a 200ft Center to be.

It's rare that a player can play his entire career in one city these days. He very much represents what the expectation is for two way centers today in terms of offensive production while suppressing other teams top players.

Unfortunately for the Bruins....it opens up next to nothing in cap space since he pretty much played for league minimum last year.

Years of thinking Boston would fall of a cliff but never did, it's amazing what elite players can do even in their latter years. Bergeron was true class and his game never really fell off a cliff, the injuries finally just took a toll. Losing Bergeron, Krecji, Hall and Bertuzzi in one off season makes that team look very mediocre. They will probably still be decent for a few years and try to be relevant until the reality of rebuild sets in.

"Only" one cup with the core of Bergeron, Chara, Marchand and Pasta probably is a bit disappointing though.

Boy the organization must be pretty disappointed in losing that first round series after being up 3-1 given what was on the line for them. I expect they will continue to play a stingy defensive game but that's going to be more difficult without Bergeron. It's pretty neat how guys like Bergeron and Pavelski never missed a beat into their mid-30's.

Yeah now they essentially don't have a 1C for the first time in almost two decades and also they lost a bunch of depth. Bergeron made that team tick and I don't see Coyle or Zacha even close to being able to fill those shoes, even though both had a good season last year.
