Pelletier from day one has struck me to be a pro.
His in game habits are those of players you depend on in tough games.
He is also younger than you would expect. He is 22 for the duration of next season.
Typically players don't enter their offensive prime until 23-24, so his ceiling is far from known.

Even though I didn't vote for either guy I am going with Honzek the speed, size and skill brings a tremendous upside that I don't see in Pelts.

Yeah, respect the choice but don’t understand how people can value NHL experience over potential when it comes to ranking prospects. Pelletier has shown he can hang in the NHL but it can also be seen as a negative, as he hasn’t shown he can be more than a bottom six guy (yet, big season ahead). Honzo hasn’t shown anything at the NHL level, sure, but that means we also haven’t seen his limits at the NHL level either. He’s all potential, and it’s far higher than Pelletier’s regardless of if he hits it.

We actually don't know what kind of potential we have with Honzek at this point. He played 2/3 of a season and had mixed results. His draft ratings weren't off the charts and he went in the projected band, which was the third band of talent. He's got some good skills but is also playing with a huge advantage in size. He is a man playing with boys. The question is whether his skills translate? I think it's early to know and it would be beneficial to see at least a year if not more to see some progress before calling him one of our top prospects. Would like to see him against some pros before elevating him above some of the guys that have shown growth in the pros. We've seen how quickly the blush can come off a player's rose in these ratings by looking at Zary and Kerins hitting the professional wall.

I think that's Honzek based on potential, size, and skillset.

Well I'll hope that Honzak is as good as he's being rated here and that many are underestimating Pelletier. I think Jakob is at least another Mangiapane/Dube type. Honzak for me at this point is still a bit unknown. He might be the better guy, but the certainty of Pelletier is too much for me to put Honzak ahead of him. But as I say...I'll be happy for the Iginla and Todd Harvey scenario to play out here so long as the Flames keep the Iginla

True, but Honzek put up those numbers on one of the most offensively challenged teams in the CHL. Vancouver was second-worst in the WHL, but Honzek scored at an 88 point pace, 94 points before his injury. Plus, he doesn’t use his size enough, so it doesn’t really give him too much of an advantage.

Also, I think Zary is doing just fine.

I voted Pelletier, but would be thrilled if I'm wrong and Honzek ends up being the better prospect b/c I think Pelletier already checks all the boxes for a middle 6 career


I get that arrows in favour of Honzek include size, played on bad team and had to adjust to NA


arrows in favour of Pelletier include a proven track record (at or around 1 PPG at 20 and 21 in an excellent pro league) and not looking out of place in NHL in small sample size

Even if he isn't a physical player his size provides a benefit against smaller players. His wing span alone is an advantage and was obvious is some of his highlight packages. How will that lack of physicality translate when he plays against bigger and more physical men and that wing span is minimized? We need to find that out. He's an enticing package but lots of players with enticing packages have flamed out in juniors. Of all our prospects his D+1 will be the most interesting to watch unfold.

Also, I think Zary is doing just fine.

Agreed. I think Zary is one of our best prospects and should challenge for a position this fall. I would put him in the top four (Honzek just behind him).
