Another good one a few months ago was the last 4 words of a jeopardy answer were the same first 4 words of the next clue. Even though it was a completely different category.

A few years ago, I was involved with an outfit here in Calgary that subcontracts consultants for interim management. After one in-house strategy meeting, six of us remained afterward talking about our backgrounds, experience, etc. as we were all pretty much strangers to each other. When we compared our backgrounds, it turned out that five of us had all worked at the downtown Eatons store in Winnipeg back in 1979.

Back when I was in university, I had a summer job in road construction. One day my job entailed handing out information pamphlets about the upcoming roadwork to the businesses located on a street. I walked into this one small business and ended up dropping off the pamphlet with the owner of the business who was seated at his desk. He had a high school grad photo of his daughter on his desk who looked like someone I thought was in my faculty at school (but didn't know) so I asked him if she was the same person. He told me she was in a different faculty at the same school.
A few years later, I started dating this woman and, after some time getting to know her family better, her father told me that his company used to have a location on the street where I had once dropped those pamphlets. Yup, unbeknownst, I was in a relationship with the woman in the picture that I had mistaken for someone else a few years earlier. I ended up marrying her.

Sometimes I am watching tv/movie or listening to the radio and when a certain word comes into my mind, I hear it at the exact moment it is spoken on the TV.

The other day I texted my friend, "Got it" the same time someone said it on the podcast I was listening too.

I was walking down a street of shops in Ottawa with a friend who had come over from Australia a couple years previously. We were talking about things he missed since coming over, and he mentioned one of his favorite desserts was something called a Lamington. I asked him what a Lamington was, and as he was describing it, we happened to walk past a bakery. He turned and pointed to one of the desserts on display in the window and said, "It looks kind of like that". He was so intrigued that he walked in and asked the worker behind the counter what it was.
Of course, the worker says "It's called a Lamington", and proceeded to explain that the bakery owner was from Australia.
My friend happily bought and consumed one then and there.

So is it a weird coincidence that the thread title was corrected? Jiri isn't a mod anymore, who's pulling those strings?

There's a time limit on it, but yes, the thread creator can edit the title.

I was up in Edmonton drinking with some friends and after a fair amount we decided to play dumb drinking games. We started asking questions like would you rather be eaten by a shark or a bear that kinda thing. Someone asks, who's the next celebrity to die and I thought for a second and pictured Michael Clarke Duncan from The Green Mile so I say him. Driving home the next day when I get to Red Deer I see a text from a buddy, saying to turn on the news Michael Clarke Duncan just died.
