I'm glad they went with a high upside offensive player here to offset picking for need (size) with the first pick.

From my write-ups:
-D Etienne Morin would be a good player to spend a middle 2nd rounder on. 72 points in 67 games for Moncton of the Q, followed by 17 points in 12 playoff games. He's a fast, agile skater who, unlike many offensive D prospects from the Q, has a sound two-way game to match his top-tier offensive instincts and IQ. Solid gap-control, and physical along the boards, and in front of the net. Plays confidently in all situations, and all zones. Hard, accurate shot, and excellent puck-handling ability. He excels in transition, with good exit, and entry ability. If there's a weakness, it would perhaps be his size (6'0"), and strength. Many suggest he will make a fine second-pairing D in the big leagues.

Agree, but the NHLe translations between the Q and the W are not wildly different. OHL, WHL, QMJHL, USHL, all quite close. Though you're right, the Q is the worst.
57% chance of being NHLer is good too. Narrowly better than Honzek I believe.

Solid pick. Organization can use another offensive minded defenseman. Will probably filter into the AHL as Poirier filters out.

Savvy pick. Great skater all around and has high end offensive potential that's backed by solid 200ft game from the Q? Thats a good thing.

So far the Conroy regime looks like they're going for skilled players above all else, yet these players still have solid 200 foot games to build upon. I'm in favor of this. Defense can be taught as long as players aren't completely negligent about it and want to improve. Skills, creativity, and offensive production often cannot be taught once you get to this level.

Seems like a solid pick. NHL Network only had good things to say.

Totally. More boom/bust with Dragicervic, but that’s the type of prospect I gravitate towards haha.
Hope the Flames can find a way to get Heidt

Very offensive minded competitive feisty defender.
Kid doesn't lack in bite but needs work defensively. He hits surprisingly hard for his size and isn't afraid to fight back when tested.
Super high ceiling here, sky is the limit with his talent.

Would have preferred Heidt or Dragicevic but I am a biased, non-scout with no clue so can’t complain about this pick.
