As a spiteful fan it's great to see Brad hasn't learned at all

I don't think Treliving ever learns. He went straight from Brouwer to Neal. Fresh from being burned by the Rooney signing he blows $10 million on another 4th line center.

Somewhere on a Leafs message board there are people defending it, saying that it can be mostly buried in the minors if needed and that if it is a mistake, it's not a very costly one so no sense getting upset.

Still I'm surprised he gave out that much term. That's a new one for the very bottom of the roster guys.

I love Treliving, just continue doing what you do, but in Toronto. Thanks.

Typical Tre signing. Using up cap space on the bottom six before dealing with the bigger fish. Rooney vibes again.

I think Scorp would disagree with you on that.

There were times were he was pretty bad for the Wranglers too.

Rooney was the Wranglers' worst player throughout the playoffs. Just completely ineffectual.

He just needs some time in the ECHL to find his game again. Bright future for him once that happens.

Over the next few years it is going to be interesting to see who Treliving tells Pierre Lebrun and Frank Seravalli to report as forcing his hand on bad moves. Especially with MLSE’s ownership structure and Tanenbaum situation.

BT's first free agent signing with the Flames (if you don't count David Wolf) was Mason Raymond. Who was bought out two years later.

Will history repeat itself?

Trademark BT move. Guy just loves his replacement level depth players and giving them term.

Yeah, the morning show here on 590 is questioning why Treliving would give the guy a 900k raise and do it on a 4-year term. Definitely can't see Nylander staying now. Would love to see Nylander on the Flames but Tre wins the vast majority of his trades and I don't think I want Conroy dealing with him just yet.
