True, for the time she was "elderly", but Pierre was certainly young when he passed.

Emperor Palpatine. Dedicated to bringing peace, Justice and Security to a chaotic galaxy while reforming a corrupt galaxy. Stabbed in the back by his best friend, while a bunch of teenagers blew up the Death Star. Nothing went well for the galaxy after that.
Though the whole debate about people dying too early, robbing society of their brilliance or entertainment value. Maybe they died at the best time, that they'd basically peaked, and anything after that peak if they lived would have been stories of cocaine abuse, paternity lawsuits and finishing their lives in a trailer park with a wife named edna and a pair of buck toothed banjo players for kids.

What Joan of Arc accomplished in 19 years is... insane.
If you are interested in history at all, and have not been deeply versed with her whole story, it is incumbent upon you to go listen to a podcast or read about her. She was truly incredible. Like, she literally ####ing saved France lol

Bradley James Nowell from Sublime probably counts.
The band was around for a bit and had 2 albums, but they were pretty much still on the small stage. In 1996, Bradley James Nowell died 2 months before their self-titled album was released. The song "What I got" hit number 1 on the billboard charts and 4 other singles from the album charted as well. Because his death was not made public, many promoters started reaching out trying to get the band in their venues and TV shows were trying to book them at the time without realizing he had passed.
It sounded like they were headed for stardom and he never lived to find out.

Interesting thought, and perhaps a good companion thread: “those who achieved greatness, but then stuck around a little too long and wrecked it”.
I kind of wondered about what more Kurt Cobain would have achieved musically had he not killed himself. The grunge genre kind of fizzled out later on, would he have adapted or kept it fresh?

The guy who invented the Segway. Think of all the other cool #### he could have brought to market and then died while using.
