Notley has gotten stronger as the debate has gone along. She seems quite confident in the free debate portions.

Smith seems more polished but less genuine. She won't even look in Notley's direction. And she is spewing lie after lie after lie. It's actually remarkable.

I definitely don't see it the same way. I don't think the debate is making Smith look any better or any more capable as a leader or Premier but I don't see Notley in a position of strength here. I see her being all over the place and I don't see her really selling NDP policy very effectively.

I love how Smith calls her the job cutting NDP. Wish someone would ask the question about how the UCP gutted universities and cut thousands of jobs during their last 4 years. Explain to me how they are the government concerned about jobs (oh wait public sector doesn't count)

I wonder what Notley has on her schedule tonight because she looks very eager to get out of that studio? Giving into the second break she was looking at her watch to see what time it was and after her closing remark she quickly took her ear piece out and closed up her binder to make a quick dash for the door.

Janet Brown said that Smith won the first half of the debate, and Notley won the second half. That's fair. However, once Notley found her groove, she sure did take it to Smith, who just couldn't stop smiling and lying. And I'm sure her base will eat that aesthetic up. Notley clearly did win the second half, which is the more important half to go home with.
