Yeah even during interviews last year, Conroy often said some surprising things (which I view positively) that I didn't expect to come out of the Flames org.

I think he benefits from being familiar with the organization, but I don't think his vision aligns with Treliving.

sorry if I've missed this, but: beside Conroy, who have the Flames even interviewed? Pascall, Pridham - anybody else confirmed?

I don't think Conroy gets the job but I would be happy if he did. We will probably hire some older fart who last won something over a decade ago.

I have a feeling Tulsky is going to stay in Carolina.

Dundon seems like the type that won't want to lose him. And they can keep Waddell as President (he is 65 years old) and then promote Tulsky to GM.

Tulsky has been in that org for 9 years now, working up from Hockey Analyst, to vice president hockey analytics, to assistant general manager.

Would be weird if Carolina let him walk now, or didn't promote him. And if you're Tulsky the team you helped build is in the Eastern Conference Finals right now...why would you want to leave.

Conroy might be waiting to assemble his own people. May be waiting for contracts with other organizations to end.

If it does end up Connie, which is fine in my books as any concerns I had with him being GM are now not in org any longer, at least they measured his resume against a strong list of candidates that did not win the job over their top guy.
Flames also would benefit from picking brains and observing different statagies.

I hope if its Conroy they let go of 2004 and move the organization forward. No more of this unfinished business stuff almost 20 years ago time to move on.

Without actually seeing the PowerPoint presentation from John Bean showing which GM candidate scored the highest on the Stephen Covey Leadership Matrix.. it'll be hard to tell if the right decision was made. But I'm ready to be hurt again.

It feels that shadow has been on the team it wasn't just Sutter he just publicly stated it. The certain type of players we have chased and not fully embracing a rebuild.

Just want the organization to move forward with that progressive mindset.

Whoever it is they hire they’ll at least be a better choice than Kenny Holland.

I recall comments where Conroy said Treliving often worked on his own while Burke would use the management team "refereing to himself" more. This may explain why Treliving sometimes had misses on bringing in certain players. My bet is Conroy would be open to a team approach to decision making.

Less ramp up time for the new hire is a major benefit here.

A new coach is needed and the roster needs substantial shuffling. Who ever takes the chair has to start quickly, and it would ideal if that individual didn't have to spend time 'getting to know' everyone and how the politics work around the team.
