If true, it would be interesting for sure. Many on this board have mentioned a desire to change ownership. I’m not a huge fan of Edwards really but I could see this leaving a bit of a void in the NHL owners group. Hasn’t he been a rather active member?

He is the most active member, not just with the Flames, but he was also hands on with the NHL when negotiating the CBAs with the NHLPA. He also has by far, the largest net worth of all the owners.

The Jet’s David Thomson is far wealthier I believe. *I thought you were referring to all NHL owners but upon re-reading I think you were just referring to the Flames ownership group.*

Only way the team is for sale right now would be because of impending legal issues with Edward's or other owners where their assets are at stake. Otherwise, who sells a team just as they got their golden arena ticket?
