Are they? I thought i was reported that the only staff to get contracts were support staff (trainers) and Conroy/Maloney/Pascal (and probably Snow).

Sutter is the only coach that has a contract.

I have not seen/heard any reports that corroborate this.

Maybe someone can provide a update.

After my wolf thing, the mom called the Flames and asked them to do something cool for me, so they had me hit that giant drum last year (or was it the year before that? Time is hard). Anyways, getting the briefing from Harvey on how to do it remains one of my favourite flames memories.

Just looking into those cold, dead, googly eyes and then out his ever-opened mouth comes "Hey, I'm Scott. I know. It's weird." It was hilarious.

They should do a Green Latern esq thing

Where the tongue flies off the body and searches the universe (bowels of the Saddledome) for the next worthy Mascot wearer...

Yeah , I thought he was a dog.

Looks like everyone on the organization is leaving. Wonder who is next? Probably that awesome beer seller guy who runs down the stairs backwards.

Thread title should be "Professional Furry Retires - Someone new to play Harvey".

It would be nice if they used this as an opportunity to give Harvey a bit of a makeover to "soften" his features a bit. The important thing is that he remain the only NHL mascot who goes "tarps off".

The trend is to have fiercer looking mascots.... (Seattle's notwithstanding).

Isnt there an unwritten rule that the people inside mascot suits identity isnt revealed to the public? I mean I kinda feel like there should be.

The only recent mascot (in any sport) to get any kind of mainstream media attention is Gritty and he's anything but fierce looking.

Mascots are for kids, they shouldn't scare kids.

Gaudreau...Tkachuk...Treliving...Harvey

You know the organizational issues run deep when even the mascot doesn't want to be here anymore.

I went to high school with the original Harvey. He also created Ralph the Dog and did that for several years until he had a dispute with North Hill Mall (as I recall) about who owned the mascot. That's why he created Harvey in the first place. Great guy too.

Yes - he was an incredible athlete. He would balance on the glass FFS!!! (and some times walk along it....) There was a discussion about him some time back here. And he sat on my wife's lap on our second date and first Flames game. Almost lost her right there and then....
